The Off Season Wedding

Many brides love getting married in the warmer months and as a result, venues are booked solid and prices are at a premium during these peak times. If you keep an open mind about your wedding date, you can get far more bang for your buck. Brides who are amenable to fall or winter weddings can save at least 10 percent of the total cost, and often a great deal more. Venues offer packages at substantial discounts from November to March. DJs, florists, and photographers offer specials in the off season too.

Choosing to exchange vows during these months is not as limiting as you may think. True, you can’t rely on a summer setting for your wedding album, and floral options may be less extensive than they are in the middle of June – but these are great reasons for breaking from the mold! If you’re the more venturesome type, you can have tons of fun taking advantage of autumn leaves or snowdrifts in your wedding portraits. And for photos with classic beauty that is guaranteed in any weather, the interior of the Castle is a dream setting. As for flowers, opting for a seasonal motif will lead to some lovely possibilities for autumn and winter floral arrangements, but these are by no means the only way to go. Pinecones, pumpkins, cranberries, and foliage can be gussied up with jewels, glassware, ornaments, candles, and LED lights to make some very chic designs. Seasonal themes have become a popular way to go, but you can always opt for classic elegance or choose a personalized theme for your wedding no matter what season it is.

Another consideration for weddings in the cooler months is how much you and your guests will be out in the elements. If you would like to hold your ceremony and reception in the same location, the Castle is a one-stop venue. We have a ceremony space that can accommodate up to 130 guests, a reception hall that can seat 400, a unique parlor room for cocktail hour, and various other rooms available for bridal party suites. And I was hinting at the beginning, yes, you can book the Castle at a big discount in the off season! Check out the Dream Wedding Package for a great deal on a sensational reception, or call to inquire about other specials during the fall and winter months.
